「グリーンエナジーデータセンター」の誘致について

石狩湾新港地域

石狩市は北海道の日本海側に位置し、年間平均６ｍの降雪と平均気温７.５度の冷涼な地であり、石狩湾新港地域は札幌市中心部へ車で３０分の至近距離に位置しています。

北海道においては、既に雪氷エネルギーを活用した電力の超低消費型データセンターの誘致を目指し、産学官連携の「北海道グリーンエナジーデータセンター推進フォーラム」との共同で、「北海道データセンター立地アセスメント委員会」を設置し、道内工業団地４２カ所を対象に立地適地を検証しました。その結果、以下の優位性から、石狩湾新港地域が「データセンター立地に最も適している」と最高評価を受けました。

●石狩市はデータセンターの設置に次の優位性を有しています。
１．電力供給の安定性
２．複数の電気通信事業者による通信ルートの確保
３．データセンターが立地できる広大で安価な用地
４．災害リスクの低減（自然災害は１００年間以上未発生）
５．積雪寒冷地であり雪の確保が容易
６．首都圏・札幌市内からのアクセスが容易
７．札幌圏のＩＣＴ関連企業の集積の活用
８．風力・太陽光発電等自然エネルギーの活用

さくらインターネット株式会社（本社：大阪）が石狩湾新港地域にデータセンターを建設

平成22年6月21日、かねてより本市が北海道と連携し誘致を進めてきた大阪に本社を置く「さくらインターネット株式会社」が石狩湾新港地域にデータセンターの建設を決定いたしました。 今回、同社が建設するデータセンターは、北海道の冷涼な外気を空調に導入し、電力コストと環境負荷の低減を図る画期的なデータセンターで、昨年から当市が誘致を進めてきた環境配慮型データセンターの立地第１号となります。 平成23年秋に完成予定です。

The attraction of the Green Energy Data Center

Ishikari City, located on the Sea of Japan in Hokkaido, has a cold climate with an annual mean snowfall of 6 meters and a mean temperature of 7.5°C.The Ishikari Bay New Port Area is within easy reach of downtown Sapporo - just 30 minutes away by car.

In the prefecture, the Hokkaido Green Energy Data Center Study Group (an industry-government-academia consortium) has already conducted research to promote the establishment of a data center with ultra-low electricity consumption through the utilization of snow and ice energy.As a result of this research, the Ishikari Bay New Port Area has been identified as a region that offers advantageous climatic and other environmental conditions, a well-developed infrastructure for electricity and communication lines, and a very low level of vulnerability to natural disasters.

◆Ishikari City offers the following advantages for the establishment of the data center:
1. A stable electric power supply
2. Secure communication routes covered by multiple communications companies
3. Plentiful and inexpensive land on which to construct the center
4. A low rate of exposure to disaster risk (no natural disasters in the past 100 years)
5. An abundance of snow due to the area's cold, snowy climate
6. Easy access from the Metropolitan area and downtown Sapporo
7. Advantages from the accumulation of ICT-related companies in the Sapporo area
8. Utilization of wind, solar power and other forms of natural energy
