Ishikari Agricultural Festival

Overview
Held in August, visitors can buy Ishikari farm products cheaply…but not only farm products. There is a flea market and fun lottery and an event to pound rice into ‘mochi’ rice cake. A popular feature every year is trying to put as many carrots as you can into a bag in 2 minutes: \100.

Ishikari Salmon Festival

Overview
The festival spirit starts in Autumn on Ishikari’s coast when there are big catches of salmon. Held in September, you can buy and even catch salmon by hand! At street stalls you can get Ishikari local food, for example, the Ishikari 1000 people ‘nabe’ (salmon soup) and visitors can enjoy the taste of autumn in Ishikari.

Atsuta Hometown salmon Festival

Overview
At this festival in September you can get you fill of seafood and mountain products. Salmon is on sale a salmon weight guessing game and rice cake throwing lottery are on tap. Many come each year.

Hamamasu Hometown Fsetival

Overview
Each year in September, Hamamasu local food specialties from the mountains and sea are presented at this festival. Salmon and processed marine products are on sale. Also farm products: black Japanese beef, pork potatoes, rice, apples and grapes are sold cheaply.

Ishikari Sports Festival

Overview
Under the crisp autumn sky, there will be various sports to enjoy even for beginners. It is held on the first Sunday of September every year.
Salmon Marathon (3・5・10km) / Elementary and Middle Junior School Ekiden(relay race) / Softball game / “Let’s walk! It’s a walking time!” / Various sport games (Tamaire, tug-of-war etc.) / Various attractions / Lottery / etc.
Target: Residents and those who work in Ishikari. (Anybody can participate the marathon and “Let’s walk! It’s a walking time!”)
